SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Senior
Marcelious Green scored a team-high of 13 points and was 3-for-5 at the free throw line, but Our Lady of the Lake University defeated University of the Southwest 95-64 Saturday evening at the Mabee Gymnasium in Red River Athletic Conference play.
Junior
Ron'Quis Lewis chipped in 12 points and went 1-for-1 at the three point line. Senior
David Blaylock scored nine points and went 2-for-4 at the three-point line. Senior
Jim Coleman scored seven points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Senior
Jeffrey Long added four points for the Mustangs.
Coming off of the bench, Sophomore
Tyler Watts scored five points and went 1-for-2 at the three point line. Senior
Leroy Cox scored four points, while junior
Jacob Donahoe added three points and went 1-for-1 at the three-point line. Senior
Xavier Hodge scored two points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line.
Sophomore
Zack Harris chipped in two points, and freshman
Juan Gay scored two while going 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Freshman
Derrick Hall scored two points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Sophomore
Emmanuel McNeil chipped in one point for the Mustangs.
For the game, USW shot 37.7 percent (20-for-53) from the field, while Our Lady of the Lake (11-5, 6-0 RRAC) shot 45.8 percent (33-for-72) from the floor.
The Mustangs (5-11, 2-4 RRAC) return home January 11 for a conference match against Wiley College at the Maddox Student Life Center.
