SAN ANTONIO, Texas – University of the Southwest women's basketball team dropped a tough 104-60 decision at No. 17-ranked Our Lady of the Lake University Saturday evening in Red River Athletic Conference action.
Junior
Aaliyah Wheatfall scored a team-high of 12 points and was 4-for-6 at the free throw line. Junior
Desiree Garza chipped in 11 points for the Lady Mustangs and was 2-for-4 at the free throw line.
Sophomore
Mykal Thomas scored nine points, went 3-for-4 at the free throw line and 3-for-7 at the three-point line. Sophomore
Naomi Solsberry added four points and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Junior Catrina Garcia scored two points tonight and went 2-for-2 at the free point line.
Coming off the bench, freshman
Jasmine Stansell scored 10 points and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Freshman
Teanikia Rodgers chipped in nine points and was 7-for-10 at the free throw line. Junior
Mikaela Ochoa scored three points for the Lady Mustangs.
For the game, the Lady Mustangs shot 36.2 percent (17-47) from the field, while Our Lady of the Lake (12-5, 6-0 RRAC) shot 46.8 percent (36-77).
USW (1-12, 0-6 RRAC) returns home January 11 for a conference game against Wiley College at 5:30 at the Maddox Student Life Center.
