Ron'Quis Lewis scored the go-ahead bucket with six seconds remaining and University of the Southwest men's basketball earned a hard-fought 84-79 win over Huston-Tillotson Thursday evening in Red River Athletic Conference action at the Maddox Student Life Center.
With the win, USW (11-14, 7-7 RRAC) moved ahead of Huston-Tillotson (7-12, 6-8 RRAC) for the sixth and final seed in the conference tournament that's scheduled to begin in early March. However, USW still has the potential to finish as high as third in the conference standings.
Senior Marcelious Green scored a team-high 21 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field. The Houston native was also efficient at the free-throw line and finished 7-for-8. Lewis added 18 points and grabbed four rebounds.

Leroy Cox added 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field. Senior
David Blaylock scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high six rebounds.
As a team USW committed only seven turnovers, while forcing the Rams into 12 turnovers.
The Mustangs return to action Saturday and host No. 18 Our Lady of the Lake at the Maddox Student Life Center at 7:30 p.m.
