LONGVIEW, Texas –No. 3 Our Lady of the Lake out-scored No. 6 University of the Southwest 58-51 in the second half and defeated the Mustangs 95-88 in the first round of the 2018 Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.

The first half was evenly matched and the game was tied at 37-37 at the break.

The second 20 minutes went went back and forth and a Marcelious Green jumper with 3:07 remaining in the second half put USW up 82-79. From there, OLLU finished the game with a 16-4 run and ending Mustangs season.

Senior Leroy Cox scored a team-high 27 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field, including 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Senior Marcelious Green, who was named First Team All-RRAC earlier in the day, added 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor. He also finished 5-for-5 at the charity stripe.
 
Senior Jim Coleman added 10 points ns junior Ron'Quis Lewis scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
