The Mustangs wrap up their 3 game home stand to start the 2019 portion of their schedule when it plays Our Lady of the Lake this weekend at the Maddox Student Life Center.

The Mustangs (3-10, 1-5 RRAC) are currently tied for 7th place in Red River Conference Standing after the first two weeks of conference play. The Mustangs could make a significant conference jump in the standings as the next 2 out of 3 games are against teams that are currently tied with them.

Last week's games saw the Mustangs have chances against nationally ranked teams to win on their home floor, but saw late leads slip away. Currently the Mustangs are on 4 game losing skid with their average conference losses being only seven points.

• USW is currently ranked among the nation's top 50 in.... assists per game (20th/17.38), Blocks per Game (32nd/3.077), 3-Pt Fg Pct Defense (36th/0.326), Assist/Turnover Ratio (38th/1.023), Steals per game (39th/7.846), Total Assists (43rd/226), Defensive Rebounds per Game (44th/28.077), Total Blocks (46th/40).

 

• USW has 6 players in double figures for the season in scoring, however only Josh Harris and Rontrell Hills have only played in all 13 games for the Mustangs. Josh Harris (61-108/.565) and Rontrell Hills (61-122/.500) have combined to shoot 53.0 percent from the floor.

 

• USW is 2-4 this season in games decided by 7 points or less. USW came up short in its upset bid of RV LSU-S and RV Huston-Tillotson as both teams escaped with wins in the last minute of play.

 

• This years team is on pace to be the best assist team in school history as they are currently averaging 17.4 assists per game.
