Men's Basketball lands 2 on 2019 Daktronics All-Scholar Team

The NAIA released the 2019 Daktronics NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes on Monday. 

The 2019 list features 74 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

The Mustangs had two student-athletes earn the award: Tyler Watts & Keiron Morning. These two are 2 of 3 student-athletes from the River River Athletic Conference to be nominated for this award.

    • Scored a season-high 16 points on February 16th against OLLU

    • Houston, TX
    • Appeared in 24 games---Averaged 2.88 points per game---Shot 36.8% from the field
    • Scored a season-high 10 points on February 2nd against St. Thomas

"I am proud of these guys to earn this award" said Head Coach Timm Dixon. "The work they put in the classroom is just or more important as they put on the court. To have over a 3.5 GPA and to be a full-time athlete shows their dedication to being the best they can be".
