BLANCHARD, Okla. -- The University of the Southwest women's golf team closed out its fall schedule at the Battle at Winter Creek on Tuesday at Winter Creek Golf & Country Club. Competing against a strong field and navigating a demanding course, the Mustangs stayed consistent throughout the 72-hole event.
Southwest finished with a team score of 1025 (+161), placing ahead of Southwestern Christian and just behind Seminole State. The Lady Mustangs were led by
Gabrielle Perez, who posted a tournament total of 35-over-par, across all three rounds, earning herself tied for 30th place.
Lucy Garza followed at 38-over-par in 34th place, while
Sophia Vidal, who tied for 35th, carded a 39-over-par.
Sarah Monaghen and
Stephanie Smith rounded out the lineup in 48th and 49th place with scores of 54-over-par and 57-over-par, respectively.Â
The tournament featured a tightly contested leaderboard, with Blinn College capturing the team title at 917 (+53), followed closely by Texas Wesleyan (918, +54) and a tie between USAOÂ and Oklahoma City at 939 (+75).
The Lady Mustangs now turn their attention to offseason training and preparation for the spring season.
