Hobbs, N.M. -- The University of the Southwest women's soccer team showed promise on Thursday afternoon, but ultimately fell 5-1 to a high-powered LSU Shreveport squad in Red River Athletic Conference play at Bob Moran Soccer Field.
The match opened with immediate intensity, as LSU Shreveport struck just 32 seconds into the game. Despite the early setback, the Mustangs settled in and began to find their rhythm.

Goalkeeper
Elena Moya was a key figure throughout the match, facing relentess pressure from the Shreveport attack. Moya record seven saves on 12 shots on goal, keeping the Mustangs within reach for much of the contest.
Southwest was outshot 24-9 but matched the Pilots in corner kicks (6-6).Â
The Mustangs will look to regroup and build with their next match against Louisiana Christian on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
