LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The University of the Southwest men's basketball team faced a tough challenge on the road Saturday against New Mexico State, dropping a 104–33 decision at the Pan American Center. The Aggies controlled the game from the opening tip, using their size and depth to pull away early and maintain momentum throughout.

Southwest tied the score at 2–2 in the opening minute, but New Mexico State quickly surged ahead, building a 52–17 halftime lead and continuing to apply pressure in the second half.

EJay Scroggins led the Mustangs with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while Kevin Boone added 7 points, including one three-pointer. Jalen Williams contributed 6 points and a steal, and Jayvian Lawson chipped in with three rebounds and two assists.

Despite the final score, Southwest battled on the boards with 30 rebounds and recorded 4 steals and 4 blocks. Shooting struggles and turnovers proved costly, as the Mustangs finished 12-of-60 (20%) from the field and 4-of-32 (12.5%) from three-point range, while committing 22 turnovers.

Southwest will look to regroup and build on individual performances as it prepares for its next conference contest.
