ALEXANDRIA, L.A. – The University of the Southwest women's soccer team kicks off Red River Athletic Conference play Thursday afternoon with a 1 p.m. (CT) matchup at LSU Alexandria.
The Lady Mustangs' last victory over LSUA came on senior day in 2021, when they rallied from an early 1-0 deficit with two first-half goals. The Generals leveled the match late, but Southwest responded with two more goals in the closing minutes to secure the win.
In their most recent meeting in 2024, Southwest again struck first before LSU Alexandria equalized before halftime. The Generals then pulled ahead with a penalty kick early in the second half and added another late from the spot to put the game out of reach.
The Southwest (0-6-0) enters Thursday's contest looking to snap its early-season winless stretch and build momentum at the start of conference play, following a hard-fought loss to Sul Ross State on September 13.
