HOBBS, NM. -- The University of the Southwest women's golf team closed out its second tournament of the 2025 fall season at Rockwind Community Links GC on Tuesday, finishing in eighth place at a team total of 194-over-par. The Lady Mustangs attempted to gain momentum from Monday's 36-hole day, but fell short.
Sophomore,
Sophia Vidal led the Mustangs in rounds one and three, carding an 11-over-par for day two of the tournament and 33-over-par overall. With a birdie on the front nine, she was able to stay ahead of the group and place 31st.
Lucy Garza followed Vidal closely, tying 37th, taking the lead in round two, but came up short in day two, despite an early birdie on the back nine. The senior carded a 14-over-par on the day and a 39-over-par for the tournament.Â
