WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas — The University of the Southwest women's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the Texas Wesleyan Invite at Hawks Creek Golf Club on Monday, sitting in eighth place. 

After two rounds, the Lady Mustangs team totaled 696, posting scores of 348 in round one and 348 in round two

Sophia Vidal led the team with carding an eight-over-par the first round and a five-over-par the second round, finishing 13-over-par to close out day one. Her consistent play across both rounds anchored the team and demonstrated her ability to handle tournament pressure. Lucy Garza followed Vidal posting rounds of 18-over-par and 12-over-par totaling 30-over-par to finish the day.

Southwest trails Wayland Baptist (631) and Tyler JC (622), while remaining ahead of Southwestern Christian (702). The field is led by Weatherford College (589), followed closely by Blinn College (594) and USAO (599).

The Lady Mustangs return to the course Tuesday for the final round, aiming to finish strong and build momentum for the rest of the fall season.
