HOBBS, N.M. – University of the Southwest rolled past Texas College 25-4, 25-8, 25-12 to win its Red River Athletic Conference home opener Thursday afternoon at the Maddox Student Life Center.

The Mustangs (6-11, 1-4 RRAC) used a balanced attack to put the Steers (0-10, 0-5 RRAC) away.
Senior
Shelby Bartley finished with a game-high nine kills and two digs. The Canyon, Texas product also hit .727. Fellow senior
Ashley Preuss dominated in front of the net and recorded eight kills and two digs. She also hit a staggering .800.
Sophomore
Torie Joiner continued her recent hot streak and held down six kills and hit. 500. Senior and Albuquerque, N.M. native
Jennifer Garcia helped with five kills and hit. 333.
Juniors
Lacey Clutts and
Corina Madrid each added three kills. Senior
Aimee Molina and freshman
Essence McGaha each contributed two kills.
As a team, the Mustangs hit. 548, which is their highest output of the season.
USW returns to the court Saturday with a RRAC tilt against Jarvis Christian at 1 p.m. at the Maddox Student Life Center.
