After scoring 7 goals in their last match up against Wayland Baptist the lady mustangs looked to see if they could keep that same offensive fire power going in today's matchup against the 1-0-0 New Mexico Highlands.  

The lady mustangs came out in today's contest flat and with very little energy and that showed throughout the match. With a very defensive game all around and very little scoring the lady mustangs and New Mexico highlands ended today's matchup as a tie 1-1. 

Head coach Negrete said that "this game was very winnable, and we should have won it, just seemed liked the girls were not mentally ready to play and the physicality of NMHU shocked them and put them into a scramble and we could not settle ourselves down from that initial shock. Overall, we played a slopy game and did not have our best outing, but we look to turn the page and get back on track for our conference opener." 

The lady mustangs have the next week off from games but are back in action with their conference opener against receiving votes Xavier University of Louisiana on September 19th at home.
