HOBBS, N.M. — The Mustangs are postseason bound! After a strong and determined regular season, the Mustangs have officially secured their spot in the conference tournament as the 7th seed in the tournament, continuing a tradition of excellence for Southwest baseball.

Led by head coach Steve Appel, the Mustangs showed resilience and grit throughout a competitive schedule, picking up key wins and delivering in high-pressure moments. With an explosive offense and a tough, reliable pitching staff, Southwest finished the regular season strong to lock in their tournament berth.

Offensively, the Mustangs have been powered by the bats of Brian Ledezma and Mark Gonzales, who consistently delivered clutch hits and sparked the offense all season long. The Mustangs now turn their focus to the conference tournament, where they will open play on May 1st at 5:00 PM CT in Sterlington, Louisiana against the #2 seed University of Houston-Victoria. With momentum and confidence on their side, Southwest is ready to make a strong push for the title.
