VICTORIA, TX---The Mustang Golf program traveled to Victoria, Texas this past weekend to compete in the Claude Jacobs Invitational hosted by University of Houston-Victoria. The 2-day tournament was played at Victoria Country Club & Colony Creek. The Lady Mustangs finished in 6th place and the Men finished in 8th place. 

"The men struggled again for the second week in a row but seem to have found a little more form heading into their next tournament this weekend in San Antonio at TPC San Antonio" said Head Coach Steve Landry. "Transfer Boyd Kapalamoto has been the most consistent. He struggled in the first round on the Par 5's but cleaned them up nicely shooting back-to-back 73's in the second and third rounds.  Our seniors Jeremie Pasitney and Robert Gallegos are on the edge of finding form. The men have the talent and have played great golf before, it's all about bringing it all together at one time. "it's not often skill that sets a player apart from the field but their mind. Those who are discipline and have patience will succeed". TPC will be a great test as many of the top teams in the country will be there."

"The women gave it their all and it showed. Iris Sedillo played well in the first round shooting a 78. She backed it up with a 87. Sydni played well also shooting two rounds of 88 and 83. Jenna Sand has been working diligently on her game and will have a breakout tournament soon.
