HOBBS, N.M. -- The University of the Southwest men's golf team took to the course at the Battling in the Desert tournament on Monday and Tuesday, October 6. Freshman standout Jorge Molinar III delivered a strong and consistent performance, earning him the honor of Red River Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Tuesday.

Molinar, competing as a true freshman, showcased remarkable poise throughout the 72-hole event. He posted scores of 72 in the first round, 73 in the second and closed with another 72 in the third round, securing a 10th-place individual finish. His steady play was essential in helping the Mustangs claim a third-place finish at the tournament.

Following his recent 14th-place showing at the Battle at Winter Creek, Molinar will return to action in the spring season, looking to build on his impressive fall campaign.
