BLANCHARD, Okla. -- The University of the Southwest men's golf team wrapped up its fall campaign at the Battle at Winter Creek, hosted at Winter Creek Golf & Country Club on Tuesday. Battling brisk Oklahoma winds and a challenging layout, the Mustangs finished fifth overall in a competitive nine-team field.
Southwest posted rounds of 307 (+19), 291 (+3) and 313 (+25) for a three-round total of 911, edging out Southwestern Christian and Our Lady of the Lake. The Mustangs' second-round 291 marked their lowest score of the tournament, showcasing potential for the ahead spring season.
Individually,
Jorge Molinar III led the way for USW, finishing 14th overall with a tournament total of 6-over-par. Molinar carded a 4-over-par in the final round with two birdies, navigating the tough back nine.
Jesse Valdez finished tied for 23rd place at 13-over-par, while
Kennedy Bailey-Borges and
Jayden Romig tied for 28th at 14-over-par.
Konner Iglehart rounded out the lineup tied for 38th place at 22-over-par, despite earning three birdies
The Mustangs look to prepare for the spring season with more golf to come.
