HOBBS, New Mexico – The University of the Southwest Men's Soccer team has officially announced its 2025 season schedule, aligned with the Red River Athletic Conference.
After finishing the 2024 season with a 5-7-4 overall record and a 3-6-4 mark in conference play, the Mustangs are aiming for a strong comeback this fall. One of last season's highlights came in a thrilling victory over Paul Quinn College, where goalkeeper Jeremy Rueda made three critical saves to secure the win in a tightly contested match.
The 2025 season kicks off on August 21 with a road contest against Southwestern Christian University at 2:00 PM MDT. The Eagles are coming off a deep postseason run that ended in a penalty shootout during the NCCAA National Championship semifinals.
"We can't wait for this next season," said Head Coach Edrian Negrete. "We have a lot of good talent returning, and we're ready to get to work."
Southwest will host its first home event on August 26 with a scrimmage against West Texas A&M, scheduled for 3:30 PM MDT.
Red River Conference play begins on the road with matchups against LSU Alexandria on September 25 and Xavier University on September 27, both kicking off at 3:30 PM MDT.
The Mustangs return to their home field the following week to host LSU Shreveport on October 2 and Louisiana Christian on October 4, with both matches set for 3:30 PM MDT.
The team then travels for three away games at North American University on October 9, the University of Houston-Victoria on October 11 and Wayland Baptist on October 14 before returning home for the final stretch of conference play.
Four of the final five conference matchups will be hosted back on Bob Moran field, which will take place on October 16 for Our Lady of the Lake, October 18 for Texas A&M-San Antonio, October 23 for Texas A&M-Texarkana and October 25 for Jarvis Christian.
All four contests will begin at 3:30 PM MDT.
The regular season concludes on the road as the Mustangs travel to face Texas College on November 1, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 PM MDT.
